The Wave, Muscat Helps Raise Money for UNICEF

As part of its corporate commitment to communities in Oman, The Wave, Muscat, recently supported UNICEF to help raise money to engage youths in a dialogue to raise awareness for an HIV/AIDS campaign. 
The evening titled, “The Wave, Muscat presents Stars in Their Eyes” witnessed prominent CEO’s sharing their musical talents with the guests of the evening. UNICEF has been successfully holding this gala event for the last four years. This year’s event, held at Left Bank, continued the enthusiasm and lively atmosphere that has become traditional with active participation from guests who went on a retro trip to trace the musical genius of the legends of the 80’s.
Nick Smith, Chief Executive Officer, The Wave, Muscat said,” The Wave, Muscat is a responsible developer of not only a real estate development but is also sensitive to the issues within the community in which it operates. It gives us great pleasure to be associated with the UNICEF cause which will help raise awareness towards this dreaded disease. We hope our donation will go a long way in making the youth of Oman aware of the dangers and consequences of HIV/ AIDS in the Sultanate,”.
The money raised shall be used by UNICEF to support a two year government initiated HIV/AIDS awareness campaign. A UNICEF spokesperson said, “Although the world knows of this terrible disease it is steadily on the rise in the MENA regions. UNICEF aims to bring the disease to the forefront in the adolescent population to prevent the huge numbers being forecasted due to a cloaking of such a disease. This two year campaign is seen as essential to the awareness and well being of our youth in Oman. Without such awareness this could prove to be the deadliest of epidemics for our children,”.
The Wave, Muscat recognizes the leadership of the Omani Government in initiating such like initiatives and is committed to best corporate practice and service excellence principles.
The Wave, Muscat, is a joint venture between Oman’s Waterfront Investments, National Investment Funds Company and UAE based Majid Al Futtaim Group.
